How To Shoot A Cinematic Video With A Sony A7R III

The Sony A7R III is still one of the most powerful full frame mirrorless camera release during its time. This camera has the ability to shoot:

You can also create some amazing photography work with the 42 Megapixel built in.

Whenever I began a shoot I always try to visualize the shot list in my head. Every shoot is different so you usually have to adjust accordingly even when you have everything planned out.

What I Usually Pair With The Sony A7R III

The Sony FE 24–105 mm F4 G OSS Lens is my go to lens because it’s truly versatile. You can capture a range of shoots from close-up to wide angle shots without even moving the camera. When your looking for that shallow depth of field the Sony FE 50mm F 1.8 Lens usually gets the job done. Your eyes sees around the same as a 50mm lens. So that is why many cinematographers use it to shoot.

B-Rolls

In order to capture smooth B-Rolls and make your shots cinematic. You need to frame your shots properly. What I like to use is the DJI Ronin-M Gimbal Stabilizer with the Ikan DH7 7″ Full HD HDMI Monitor with 4K Signal Support or any other 4k monitor is fine as well. Although the camera has great stabilization with the lens. If your a person who doesn’t have steady hands your shots won’t be as smooth.
